Rogers students will be taking the California Standards Test from Monday, May 7th through Thursday, May 17th. Please make sure all students are getting a good night's sleep, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising and keeping stress levels low so that they can perform their best each day. Rogers students competed in this year's Los Angeles County Science Olympiad held at Occidental College this Saturday. Students won medals in the "Write it-Do it" event (5th place) and the Water Quality event (4th place). Overall the team placed 16th out of 32 teams. RAP students along with high school and parent volunteers helped to decorate one of this year's floats for the Rose Parade in Pasadena on January 2, 2012.
On 12/3/11, Rogers FLL (First Lego League) robotics team competed at the Manhattan Beach Qualifying Tournament. This year's challenge was Food Factor - keeping food safe. The first year girl's team did extremely well on all levels and the second year boy's team won a trophy for programming and will advance to the First Lego League Regional Tournament on 12/17/11. Congratulations to all participants and thanks to the parents, teachers and coaches who have supported our teams.
